Team

Hi, I’m Alex Kos, the founder of Instepper. My soccer experiences and athletic body-of-work led to the inception of Instepper.

I’m looking for passionate Mentors and members of the soccer community that want to team up with me to Change the World!
Experience
  • Started playing soccer in Europe at age 5.
  • Played competitively through high school and post-college until 28.
  • 3-year All-American starting field goal kicker and punter at Brown University.
  • Coached all 3 of my kids at the House and Comp level thru U12.
  • Possess an E/D license.
  • Invented and patented a soccer training device called Loopball. (the strike-through is a bug).
    • Loopball reinforces the importance of using of the insides-of-the-feet when receiving a ball in a fun and memorable way.
  • Launched Loopball 1.0.
    • The lessons-learned list is quite long.
  • Organized the tournament-long World Cup East Bay 2010 South Africa World Cup viewing (and more) party.
  • Refereed at the Club, high school, and college level.
    • The “best seat in the house” reaffirmed every game that a confident FIRST-TOUCH is the key to soccer success but that it is still lacking for most players.
    • Was a CNRA classroom and field instructor for several years.
  • Implemented a youth referee mentoring program at Impact Soccer Club (now East County Revolution).
    • I was most impressed with how confidently high school and college-aged referees mentored younger referees.
  • Started DIY Tether Soccer Ball during COVID.
  • Blogging about “Improving Soccer in the United States.
